Hello and "Thank you" for watching Channel 6 News at 5,6, & 10:00 pm each evening.

I've been at KCEN for over 16 years.

I was hired as the Weekend Sports Anchor, and later became Sports Director. I then spent nine wonderful years as The Morning Anchor for Texas Today, and in July of 2018 I moved to anchor the evening shows.

Over my 16 years I've covered some amazing stories. The Baylor Basketball scandal, The Columbia break up over Texas, The Lady Bears 2 National Championships and even a Heisman Trophy. In more recent years I’ve covered the 2 Fort Hood shootings, The West Fertilizer Plant Explosion, and the Twin Peaks Biker Shootout.

I'm a native of Torrance, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, and a Graduate of California State University at Long Beach. My father was a teacher and coach, and also worked for the Lakers. His role was as Official Scorekeeper for all home games for 48 years. That made him the longest tenured employee in franchise history!

Just 32 more years to go at KCEN to catch him!

I've also worked on the air in Southern California and Nebraska. (KNOP – TV North Platte)

I have an amazing wife and 2 wonderful daughters. I truly am a blessed man!

Thanks for watching Leslie Draffin and me each night and for making my job so enjoyable.

In 2016 & 2017 Kris was fortunate enough to be named the “Waco Tribune-Herald On-Air Television Personality Of The Year.” Also in 2016 Texas Today won an AP Award For Best Morning Newscast.
