Liz Mitchell currently serves as KCEN's Legal Analyst and has a weekly segment "The Legal Brief" (Mondays at 5pm). Liz joined KCEN in August of 2015.

Liz attended the University of Arkansas where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. Liz earned a Juris Doctor Degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

She focused her studies in the area of criminal law and knew she would one day pursue a career as an Assistant District Attorney. At DePaul, Liz served as a research assistant helping gather case law on forensic sciences and DNA analysis for text book publications.

After graduation, Liz moved back to her hometown, Dallas, Texas, where she fulfilled her dream of becoming a prosecutor. Liz spent over seven years as a prosecutor with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office. The last two years of Liz's career were spent focused on prosecuting Human Trafficking, Online Child Pornography, and Sexual Assault Cases.

In 2012, Liz was forced to end her courtroom career after a devastating accident in which she suffered a spinal cord injury that left her permanently disabled.

Today, Liz is able to once again share her passion for criminal law while helping our viewers interpret current legal issues and cases.
