A Killeen man is in the Bell County Jail for allegedly attempting to solicit sex from a minor.

Kenneth Ricketson, 22, was indicted by a Bell County Grand Jury on a charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor Wednesday.

On April 25, a sergeant from the Office of The Attorney General conducted an internet investigation in Bell County. According to an affidavit, a user profile on the mobile app “Whisper” was created under a username by the officer. The officer was contacted by a user by the name of "Mixer_Rage”. The officer identified himself as a 14-year-old girl.

The suspect, Ricketson, sent a nude picture of himself and requested for the girl to engage in sex acts with him.

According to the affidavit, Ricketson made plans to meet with the girl at a Killeen Park.

When the Ricketson arrived at the park, he was met with Bell County Sheriff’s Deputies and was detained by them.

Ricketson was interviewed by officers and he admitted he went to the park to have sex with a girl he believed to be 14-years-old.

Online Solicitation of a Minor is a second-degree felony. Ricketson was booked into the Bell County Jail on April 25 and is listed with a $250,000 bond.
